In conjunction with the Outside Sales Account Managers participate in a critical role in retaining and growing key major/strategic accounts. The Outside Sales Account Coordinator is the sales / operation liaison between the Account Manager, Customers and in-house Production & Operational teams. A successful candidate will have immediate impact on the growth of the business. The ideal candidate is organized, efficient, and demands the most from him/her. An action oriented professional who provides excellent follow through while working in a high paced work atmosphere. With an eye toward continued improvement bringing a higher level of customer satisfaction and personal job performance, this candidate gets the little things done, while getting the bigger picture, adding to the Airgas brand; “you will find it with us.” The ideal candidate will take a consultative approach with clients to help solve their business challenges while proactively initiating and accomplishing multiple client deliverables. Collaborating with all departments to complete daily tasks and deliver on our promises to clients is paramount.


  • Lighten the sales operational load of the Account Manager - freeing them up to sell more

  • Keep customers coming back for more and exceeding their expectations by providing a higher level of customer satisfaction

  • Have the skill set to provide the necessary customized reporting required by the customer on a quarterly and annual basis accurately and on time.

  • Take ownership of the internal communication between departments and drive productivity

  • Take the initiative to identify and close new business opportunities

  • Attend classes or trainings to improve subject matter expertise

  • Consistently demonstrate ability to successfully move into problem-solving mode whenever challenges or concerns arise

  • Work well with and demonstrate respect for colleagues at all levels and consistently contribute to a positive work environment.

  • Partner with Inside Sales to increase market share from concept through completion.

  • Manage a base of active clients.

  • Educate clients about our company’s value proposition, product offerings and new product developments.

  • Assist the Account Managers by following up with new customer leads.

¨ Ability to occasionally lift 25 to 75 lb.

¨ Occasional bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, grasping, feeling and repetitive motion required.

¨ Ability to perform work doing occasional climbing, balancing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and finger activities.

¨ Must be able to occasionally work outdoors in temperatures ranging from -10 to over 100 degrees.

¨ Talk to and hear customers/co-workers as well as smell/hear leaking gas from cylinders.

  • Minimum of 5 years industry experience.

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office products. Advanced Excel skills a plus.

  • Knowledge of SAP.

  • Have a strong command of the English language

  • Must have excellent verbal/written and telephone communications skills

  • Must have a proven history of working on several projects simultaneously

  • Must be able to work effectively both independently and as a contributing member of a team.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, deadlines and manage the needs and projects of several strategic clients at once with superb attention to detail and quality.

  • Participation and coordination of industry trade shows would be involved
