**Description**


The **Electrical Maintenance Supervisor** provides technical guidance and supervision to craft persons, vendors, and contractors who perform the shop and/or field maintenance work involving the removal of, reinstallation, disassembly of and reassembly of plant equipment, devices, appliance and appurtenances. Re-commissions equipment and ensures that it is operating safely and reliably. Additionally, monitors, evaluates, inspects, documents, reports, and troubleshoots to improve the performance of electrical systems and equipment.


**Responsibilities may include: **



  • Participating in the safety process. Performs audits and inspections to ensure compliance with applicable governmental regulations and company policies and procedures

  • Communicating with company and contract employees concerning safety, health and environmentally related requirements and regulations to enforce and ensure compliance with Company policies and governmental regulations

  • Monitoring and inspecting new electrical construction and commissions new equipment

  • Independently evaluating and resolving problems.

  • Participating in troubleshooting, problem definition and data gathering on electrical equipment.

  • Developing procedures for repairs, initiates repairs, and follows up on solutions to problems

  • Communicating status in a timely manner to proper operations, maintenance, and engineering personnel

  • Assures and is directly responsible for accurate and complete records on electrical equipment inspection and repair histories

  • Responsible for independently managing and controlling spare parts inventory

  • Maintains spare parts inventory documentation

  • Working with, training, and coaching operators and others on how to operate and maintain the electrical equipment in their area.

  • Reviewing operating procedures to ensure electrical issues are properly addressed

  • Auditing work performed by outside shops, contractors, vendors, and craftspersons

  • Managing and supervising craftspersons, vendors, contractors, tools, materials and equipment to efficiently execute the work plan

  • Assisting in development of maintenance schedules, managing, and performing routine preventative maintenance

  • Communicating non-conformances with set inspection intervals

  • Preparing turnaround work lists and helps coordinate turnaround activities

  • Proactively maintains job knowledge and skill level to meet the requirements of the job

  • Maintaining familiarity with the National Electrical Code, Company Specifications and applies them in the duties of this position

  • Participating in facility emergency response as part of the Emergency Management Organization within the Incident Command System

  • Participating in reviewing/revising company Policies and Procedures pertaining to electrical work and those having to do with electrical systems


**Qualifications**

**Basic/Required** :



  • Legally authorized to work in the job posting country

  • High school diploma or GED Equivalent

  • Valid Driver’s License

  • 5 or more years of experience as an electrical journeyman or electrical supervisor at a petrochemical, chemical, or large industrial facility

  • Working knowledge of common preventative and predictive maintenance practices

  • Working knowledge of electrical hazardous area classifications

  • Respond to off-hour call outs to support high priority refinery operating and maintenance requirements

  • Ability to obtain or currently hold a TWIC card

  • Must be willing and able to perform/comply with all of the following:


o Ability to work in enclosed spaces such as tanks and silos

o Ability to work safely near large, hot, high-speed machinery

o Ability to climb up to 250 feet in height

o Ability to work around chemicals including acids and bases

o Ability to wear Nomex fire retardant clothing and personal protective equipment (such as steel-toe shoes, ear and eye protection.)

o Ability to be clean shaven each day (facial hair)

o Ability to work in and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions

o Ability to work with hydrocarbons under high pressure and/or heat

o Ability to read and interpret technical equipment data sheets, specifications, drawings and vendor manuals in English

o Ability to work overtime, holidays, weekends, and rotating shifts, as needed.

**Preferred: **



  • 2+ years certificate in Electrical Technology, Electrical Analysis, Electrical Theory, or Electrical Engineering

  • Proficient (perform the skill with limited assistance) with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel

  • Familiarity with the SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) module

  • Have a dominant safety focus

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with all levels of the organization


**TWIC: **

This position requires you to have a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC card) to gain access to secure areas of Maritime Transportation Security Act (MTSA) regulated facilities and vessels.
