The Supply Chain Planner is in charge of raw material planning and the production planning of specialty materials in Central LA. The position is responsible for managing, establishing, reviewing, and maintaining the detailed production schedule for tolling activities and specialty adsorbents; creating the packaging plan, managing warehouse transfers, and managing the allocation plan. Responsible for inventory control and to assist in logistics related needs at the site. Manage the Production Schedule for Specialty Adsorbents, and Tolling ActivitiesResponsible for overall production plan of a specific unit operation, for the 0-12 month time horizonTakes into account the forecast, backlog, availability of material, available capacity, and management policies and goalsConverts planned orders into firm planned and/or process orders or creates process orders in accordance with the plan Communicates the plan to appropriate partiesParticipates in the pre-S&OP and demand validation meetings as needed Notifies Business Management when a shortage situation arises to allocate supply as neededWork with the output of the pre-S&OP to maximize capacity and utilization for manufacturing to achieve customer requirements and corporate goalsInteracts with Customer Service and Business Managers on backorder issuesResponsible for inventory health of the plantEstablish inventory target and track/communicate progress towardMaintain material masters, routings/recipes, and Bill of Materials (BOMs) in SAP Manage raw material and packaging planning into the Vidalia SiteManage ATH barges and on-shore stocking levels at the 3rd party location Plan packaging materials for the site, manage inventory levelsBachelors Degree Preferred in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, Operations or related field2+ years experience in supply chain requiredA thorough understanding of production scheduling theory and techniques is strongly preferredThe ability to effectively use the standard set of BASF software tools including SAP Advanced Planning and Optimization (APO), Detailed Planning and Scheduling (DP&S), MS Office and corporate e-mail applicationsAbility to establish a plan and drive its execution to successfully deliver results against business objectives APICS (CPIM) certification or nearing completion preferred.
