Work closely with equipment suppliers, plant staff and Process Area Teams to ensure the successful operation of the plant.
·
Successfully complete training and demonstrate competence and ability to operate plant systems from the central control room.
·
Create start up and shutdown plans as well as safe job procedures
·
Visible leader and unwavering supporter of Safety, Health and Environmental principles at the plant, including policies and procedures.
·
Supervise team of multi-skilled Cement Technicians to safely and efficiently operate and maintain a 4 million ton per year cement plant.
·
Exercise leadership over an area of the plant i.e.: directing various Area Leaders and supervising Cement Technicians, ensuring processes within the area are being operated safely and efficiently.
·
Directly participate in the hiring process, day-to-day personnel decisions as well as performance evaluations and disciplinary proceedings for technicians.
·
Create positive culture to maintain Holcim represented status - Model plant´s Belief & Commitments Statements
·
Provide coaching, oversight and feedback to develop personnel into full functioning team members.
·
Successfully deliver and/or oversee training (safety, technical and non-technical) to new employees as part of the plant master training
·
Ability to correctly make decisions while delegating when appropriate, considering the large business impact of decisions due to size of plant.
·
Adjusts process set points based on knowledge of cement chemistry, raw mix design, plant quality and business objectives, equipment and operational limitations to ensure a consistent product that meets quality specifications while maintaining high OEE.
·
Successfully complete required training, earning certified status through the Holcim OCP process.
·
Demonstrate competence in all aspects of Control Room operation
·
Identify potential for optimization and improvement
·
Optimize fuel mix (usage of Pet Coke and AFR)
·
Other duties as assigned
Education Criteria:
·
Bachelor´s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical Engineering / Technology ( or equivalent training) preferred

Other Related Experiences Required or Preferred:
·
Experience leading technical teams > 10 people for 3+ years preferred
·
Experience in operating cement kilns preferred
·
Heavy industrial experience 3+ years required
·
Basic computers skills required (web, spreadsheets, etc.)
·
Business knowledge a plus
·
Basic electrical knowledge/experience preferred
·
Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (SAP preferred)
·
Refractory management and installation experience preferred
·
Knowledge of modern cement kiln, combustion and grinding processes preferred
