Join us in leading the utility sector and ensure that our IT Portfolios are compliant with advanced Cybersecurity Controls and Standards!

We are looking for Cybersecurity Risk Management Gurus to join our team.

As the Project Risk Advisor, you must be a natural in cultivating relationships with major stakeholders tasked with delivering our IT Solutions within very aggressive timelines. Your task is to enforce IT Security controls to protect the Critical Infrastructure. This may mean getting the major stakeholders to spend more money on security, or delay project deliverables, to mitigate a future potential loss if not done properly.

IT Systems are always under attack and it your objective is to make sure our systems are well protected from malicious intrusion.

Your first year deliverables include, but not limited to:

  • Developing an inventory of our portfolio to make sure our documents are in place

  • Establishing the partnership between our Enterprise Technology Risk Management group, IT Stakeholders and business partners.

  • Improve our process by creating dashboards for better reporting on the health state of all projects in our portfolio

Ideal professionals come from a strong Enterprise Technology Architecture background with a solid knowledge of IS Controls (NIST Framework) and Risk Management.

The Project Risk Advisor job family provides planning, product, business, and operations management analysis and support in the following areas: planning, research support, data analysis and reporting, resource management, process governance, budgetary requirements and spend, in support of business decision making, strategy, and operations. Provides input, support, and analysis to general IT business processes, assists in the development of a prioritized budget for the IT organization and works with other financial or data personnel to ensure accurate and timely operations, budget, and/or project management. May also be involved in business process improvement, quality control, special projects, and other initiatives.



  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Business, or equivalent experience

  • 6+ years of general business experience


  • Advanced degree (MS, MBA) preferred

  • Seven or more years of related budget, financial, and program systems and processes experience desirable

  • Experience in leading projects preferred

  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP®)

  • Six Sigma or ITIL practitioner

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:


  • Must have the ability to develop strategies and have solid decision-making skills

  • Able to present highly complex data and findings to senior leaders

  • Experience with use of financial systems and reporting tools (i.e., SAP Business Warehouse, Business Objects, Access)

  • Mastery knowledge of business and financial planning, professional concepts as they apply to the IT organization

  • Expert business analysis research and problem solving skills.

  • Independently leverage broader business understanding to perform critical work and be responsible for complex projects performed within a broader technical and business context.

  • In depth business understanding of the IT organization


  • Expert knowledge and understanding of Capital Accounting Instructions and how to apply and validate project conformance.

  • Expert level Microsoft Excel skills

  • Solid and in-depth knowledge around Generally Accepted Accounting Principals

  • Works independently on large, complex projects as a project leader

  • Demonstrate advanced organizational business understanding

  • Exercise independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance with broad scope and complexity

  • Perform assigned tasks of high complexity using established procedures, standards, and guidelines

  • Advanced presentation and facilitation skills

  • Ability to communicate and influence organizational change and gain organizational support

  • Is looked upon to strategize with and influence senior leadership on business related matters


Specific Job Responsibilities for Project Risk Advisory:

  • Develop, document, refine, improve Project Risk Advisory processes, procedures, and ways of working

  • Analyze and maintain project needs and maintain annual master program of activities

  • Support Business Risk Advisory input into quarterly project planning/forecasting (responsibilities of DRM)

  • Carry out delegated tasks from Business Risk Advisor (responsibilities of DRM)

  • Maintain and update accurate ETRM estimated project hours throughout the DRM stage gates

  • Provide project teams with appropriate controls requirements based upon MAC, DRAC, and IPAC classification

  • Schedule ETRM services (controls assessments) throughout the DRM as appropriate

  • Provide third party security review support and report development as appropriate

  • Facilitate and support development of System Security Package(s) and Certification & Accreditation processes/requirements

  • Deliver routine project status and timely escalation of concerns to appropriate IT PMs (BTL and I&O)

  • Timely escalation of concerns to the Director of Risk Advisory Services and Business Risk Advisor as appropriate

Performs one or more of the following major duties:

General Business Analysis:

  • Works with senior management to support strategic planning and decision making

  • Acts as the lead on high profile business analysis, planning, or operations cross-functional projects and initiative

  • Works with considerable direct exposure to the senior leadership and is peer with leadership team

  • Facilities leadership team meetings and manages issues resolution

  • Develops and creates enterprise-wide level presentations for senior leadership; provides recommendations with supporting analysis

  • Defines and develops the processes, principles, methods, and tools for collecting, monitoring, and measuring business performance, financial, and operations

  • Proactively follows-up on issues and initiatives for senior leaders to ensure successful resolution and implementation

  • Works closely with leaders and other key stakeholders to ensure that key initiatives and activities are delivered in a timely and coordinated manner and aligned with the goals of the organization.

  • May oversee the preparation and support for GRC testimony, work papers, etc. for use in regulatory proceedings

  • Manages the development, implementation and coordination of communication strategies and messaging for organizations and / or initiatives.

  • Drives change in the organization and is a champion of company initiatives as appropriate

  • Acts as a thought leader, applying extensive unique subject matter expertise in the development of strategy or resolution of complex issues

  • Requires considerable direct exposure to senior leaders and is peer to organization leadership team

  • May have 1 – 2 direct reports; may supervise, coach, mentor, and develop assigned staff

  • Build effective working relationships within and across IT work groups

Financial Activities& Analysis:

  • Work closely with senior leaders and finance manager on cycle forecasts, chargeback management, contract management, General Rate Case -GRC planning, and annual IT budget planning

  • Partner with business finance on behalf of senior leaders to track budget, resolve global IT concerns, and create processes to improve financial status visibility

  • Works with business finance to improve integrity, methods, and forecast accuracy

  • Assist in the preparation of long-term financial planning, forecast of revenues

  • Lead department wide IT financial & planning modeling and data initiatives of the highest complexity and impact

Metric Activities:

  • Manage benchmarking efforts, coordinates support through IT departments

  • Works with IT and functional leadership to establish a variety of key business, financial and performance metrics

  • Create metrics and compile dashboards and reports; develop summary variance explanations and recommends remedial actions

Resource Planning:

  • Responsible for providing strategic planning of all IT staffing resources

  • Provides analysis of IT resources required to maximize productivity and minimize risk to services levels

  • Provide long-term resource planning forecasts based on current trends and information

Asset/Contract Management:

  • Responsible for providing strategic planning of IT assets with business sourcing

  • Provides asset management analysis and long-term forecasts based on current trends and information

Initiative/Project Management:

  • Manage major cross-functional projects and initiatives

  • Assists in execution of project deadlines and schedules.

  • Leads IT business/operations project efforts which require cross-department collaboration including process improvement initiatives

  • Identifies project priorities and assigns tasks to stakeholders on behalf of senior leadership

  • May represent senior leaders in cross-functional initiatives

  • Manages and coordinates project events and meetings ensuring action items have assigned owners and completed

  • Provides guidance to and mentors other analysts
