As the global business development team we are expected to support the 4 regions (North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia Pacific & Japan) throughout the whole CD sales process from lead generation until successful delivery of a custom-developed project (CDP), or a packaged solution, and during a support phase. This requires a strong cooperation with the colleagues in sales and in consulting, as well as an even stronger cooperation within the Custom Development organization - at the same time following the general roadmaps of the standard development tracks of SAP. Custom Development wants to expand its current activities in North America. SAP Custom Development therefore looks for an engaged seasoned professional in the role of a Solution Architect (Expert level). The candidate should: 1. Demonstrate a strong interest in SAP solutions 2. Show a willingness to jump into new topics 3. Act pro-actively and success-driven, with a "can do" attitude 4. Bring the ability to understand and explain complex technical environments, at the same time reducing complexity 5. Show strong leadership and coaching skills.


EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS


As a Solution Architect for Custom Development you will: 1. Analyze the requirements coming from leading companies 2. Work closely together with customers and internal SAP teams (such as Consulting, Business Development, Sales, Development) 3. Develop Go-to-market approaches for new markets / new products and plan/execute respective activities, such as presentations at industry events 4. Position our solution experience with new and existing customers (Business Development / Market Development) 5. Position HANA in custom-built solutions 6. Supports presales activities for FBS/RCS solutions 7. Discuss with customers different architecture approaches, considering commercial implications for SAP 8. Perform effort estimations for projects to be won 9. Write Solution Proposals for projects to be won 10. Take ownership of large portions of a project deal, including the analysis, authoring and estimation of a solution. As a Solution Architect, you are expected to optimize the customer's project by ensuring maximized usage of the SAP Standard Product and proposing a custom solution that is sustainable and maintainable. In the early stages of qualification and engagement, a Solution Architect must possess the ability to rapidly develop solution concepts, an overall vision of the "art-of-the-possible". During formal evaluations, a Solution Architect acts as the team lead, must closely collaborate with Development Architects, delegates ownership and responsibility for various solution elements to the Development Architects, facilitates interaction and collaboration with the customer and acts as the "primary voice" of the team to the account team and the customer.


WORK EXPERIENCE


Minimum 5-8 years professional experience Managed customer relationship over an extended period Deep understanding of overall SAP portfolio Experience in solving customer issues and building solution proposals.


EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES


Software architecture and development experience. In-depth knowledge of SAP's solutions. Understanding of at least one industry is a plus. HANA experience is a plus. Strong analytical and communication skills, including ability to rapidly gather data, structure hypotheses, and develop synthesized findings/recommendations. Preferably some presales experience. Ability to pick up knowledge in new areas very fast Fluent business English, in speaking and writing. Strong team orientation and ability to thrive on virtual, international, cross-functional teams Proven record of excellent performance Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science or related fields Excellent verbal, communication and board/executive level presentation skills.
