At SAP you get your chance to put your ideas into action with maximum impact.Responsible for designing, administrating, measuring and reporting on fair value for SAP Mobile Services globally. Review and approve / reject deals which are non-compliant with fair value pricing. Design & implement improvements in margin reporting to drive improvements in margin performance for the lines of business within the division. Act as the finance / business liaison with the CTO organization to ensure necessary system changes are made to achieve goals.


EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS



  • Act as a partner to the lines of business, defining and ensuring the proper application of the selected fair value methodologies by line of business. Represent finance in approving or rejecting opportunities which are non-compliant with the relevant fair value model.

  • Establish effective relationship with the sales teams to become the trusted finance advisor to sales as fair value is implemented, both for existing as well as new customers.

  • Maintain accurate and up to tracking of our fair value compliancy by line of business. Provide assistance to CFR in auditing / testing fair value for SAP Mobile Services.

  • Introduce and implement changes, as permitted, to our fair value models to accommodate changes in our marketplace, driven either by customers or competition.

  • Design new reporting, with the business, which will significantly improve the timely identification of margin problems with the goal of making better / faster decisions that will lead to overall improved margin performance.

  • Liaise with the CTO organization, representing finance and the business, to make ongoing modifications in Datamart to streamline the fair value process and improve reporting to drive improved decision making.

  • Involved in developing, modifying and executing company policies which effect immediate operations and also may have division-wide effects.

  • Regularly interact with senior management or executive levels on matters concerning fair value and margins. Requires the ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance of, others in sensitive situations.

  • Oversees implementation and adherence to financial, operational and pricing policies and monitor & support improvement opportunities for enhancements and improved internal controls.

  • Work closely with Sales personnel and senior Sales Management and their customers as necessary in selected deals that require attendance of financially-oriented personnel. Provides financial, pricing, revenue recognition & general business guidance to Sales and Sales Management when structuring sales transactions

  • Keeps current on revenue recognition pronouncements & emerging issues.

  • Solve complex financial, revenue recognition and operational problems that require a broad knowledge and in-depth experience.

  • Provide support and guidance for new initiatives that require the development of fair value policies.

  • Support finance and the business on variety of ad-hoc projects / initiatives, from complex financial analysis to recommendations on business strategy and direction.


WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Works on a wide range of problems/issues of diverse scope and complexity where analysis of data and/or situations requires evaluation of various factors. Exercises judgment and defines practices and policies in selecting methods and evaluation of criteria for obtaining resolutions.

  • Provides information, assistance and recommendations which are used in the Group management decision-making process. Inaccurate decisions will cause critical errors related to financial & operational direction, plans, resource allocations, and the overall success of the CS&S organization.


EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATION / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • Business/Finance degree is required, MBA preferred.

  • Minimum of 15+ years relevant experience, having demonstrated strong financial and business skills is required.

  • Strong understanding of software revenue recognition and fair value methodologies is mandatory.

  • Strong understanding and knowledge of P2P and Enterprise messaging space is mandatory - customer and partner dynamics, pricing models and service offerings

  • Experience with contracts required as well as experience in negotiating with customers and partners.
