@ a< href="">Sap RSS News

SAP aims to train up to 3,000 graduates, matriculants and entrepreneurs across five African countries including South Africa in the next five years as part of its multimillion rand skills investment, the software group said last week.

Nigeria and Kenya would also be among the five.

Two months ago, SAP announced its skills programme to train people in areas such as information technology, and business skills.

"Our aim is to provide working experience," said Pfungwa Serima, SAP Africa CEO.

"We are not doing this for the sake of it, we want to train and provide experience which will result in employment."

The training programme has already started in Kenya and so far it has 70 students. In South Africa intakes are expected sometime this year.

SAP last week signed an agreement with Techno Brain as an official partner for the training programme in Africa.
